Founder and Managing Director
After living and working in the US for 7 years, Layne returned to his hometown of Brisbane and opened the doors at Restored Classics in April, 2009. While living in Chicago, Layne had a small shop where he restored and serviced dozens of vehicles, including early Mustangs, Firebirds, and Thunderbirds, among others. He was also contracted to build several AC Cobra Replicas and 2 Porsche Spyder Replicas. While in the US Layne undertook training and study in motorsports welding, engine building and vehicle assembly and earned his competition dragster licence at Indianapolis Dragway.
Layne’s achievements outside of work include building and racing a full-chassied fiberglass MK 1 Cortina Super Sedan.
Layne’s personal cars have included a 1967 Mustang Fastback, a 1972 XA Falcon Coupe, a 1964 MK 2 Cooper S Mini.
Aaron has been infatuated with cars from an early age, and is fulfilling a lifelong dream of working with them full-time. Before coming to Restored Classics, Aaron earned his certificate in carpentry and worked as a builder, always tinkering with cars on the side. “Being lucky enough to have Layne as my uncle I was able to secure a job with Restored Classics 5 years ago and I’ve never looked back.”
Aaron’s current driver is a BA XR6T with 400hp but he still loves working on and restoring early muscle cars.

With 20 years experience in the restoration industry, Dylan was formally the curator of a large car collection in Australia. 2 years ago Dylan moved to the UK to manage a workshop that specialised in servicing and transporting exotic vehicles. Dylan recently returned to Australia to join the team here at Restored Classics.
Dylan’s personal drive is a 74 HQ Holden, LS1, Turbo 400 and 9-inch differential with 4.11 gears.
Dave started tinkering around with cars when he was 17 years old. What started out as a little fun spurned into a deep passion to make a career out of playing with cars and saw him taking on an auto-electrical trade. Finishing his apprenticeship close to 30 years ago he continued working on a wide variety of vehicles and hasn’t looked back. He joined the team at Restored Classics in early 2017 and has proved himself a much valued member bringing in a wealth of knowledge and experience. Dave’s specialisation is in AC installation, repair and service and loves the challenge of working on classics from the 50’s-70’s.
Dave’s personal drive is a trusty van at the moment, being a family man his people mover gets the job done. However, he has had the pleasure of owning a few HR Holden’s, an RT Charger and his dream car is an XB Hardtop.
“From the outset Layne at Restored Classics gave me great confidence that he and his team were the right people to start and finish the ground up restoration of my FJ Holden. Layne has an attention to detail that’s second to none, my FJ is a perfect example of this, every inch of my car has been treated with his ability to provide a perfect finish, the final product has given me a great sense of satisfaction and value for money. 3 years have passed since I have taken my car home and I still get a huge sense of pride every time I drive the car, thanks to Layne and the team at Restored classics for their specialised and personal service.”
